Acupuncture

AcupunctureAcupuncture is a traditional form of medicine. It cures/prevents illness by regulating and normalizing a person’s healthy function. Thin needles are inserted into specific points on the energetic pathways, or meridians, to restore the patient’s balance. According to ancient theories, disease is thought to occur when the body’s balance is disrupted.

Acupuncture:

Regulates/Relaxes the Nervous System
Regulates the Immune Response
Improves Blood Flow
Regulates Qi (Vital Energy) Flow

At Little Mountain Health Clinic, we use single-use, sterilized, thin needles made from stainless steel.

The acupuncture effect mechanism is explained (but not fully) by the following theories: Neurotransmitter Theory, Autonomic Nervous System Theory, Gate Control Theory, Vascular-interstitial Theory, Blood Chemistry Theory. For more information, please see www.tcmabc.org.
